HoLy SeCo Exhibition 2013
Another great semester has gone by and is about to come to an end. That would mean that it is yet again time to reflect on exhibition. This year I was able to be a part of the Howard/Lyman/Sevilla/Corner team. I think that we did a very good job with our all-school exhibition. The projects from this team were separated based on the curriculum we were a part of. In humanities, we demonstrated short scenes of William Shakespeare's renowned plays, such as Taming of the Shrew. In Chemistry, we had spent the last month and a half creating a painting that integrated a connection between art and science based on the art or science piece. We had also learned how to make various paint types and colors with chemistry labs, and on exhibition demonstrated a less complex lab of how to make paint. Math was correlated to what we had done in Humanities, yet it was wrapped around exploring mathematical strategies behind tudor games. Lastly, for art we kept on the simpler side, because we didn't want some great background to take away from the hard work and time that we put into our design boards for redesigning the space outside of the main commons.
I think having gone through all of the chaos of creating the products, setting up the rooms, rehearsing, and getting through the actual night.
The one thing that I am most proud of would have been to showcase the projects, but also the knowledge of what I had learned throughout the process. This is something that I have been very proud of, over the years that I have been a part of High Tech High. I am most proud of this because, it is what makes this school different from most of the others currently. This is because, from what I have learned, is that normal schools will spend so much time prepping for one event and move on. Whereas, High Tech High we do almost the same thing, but we don't drop what we have learned, just because it was a one night event.
I think that what went well over the course for exhibition, is that we were able to get through preparations and the actual night without anyone getting hurt or having an incident. Normally, everything will usually run smoothly. Yet, sometimes anything can happen on exhibition. For the next exhibition, I really do not think that we could do anything better, because it has surpassed the expectations that I had in mind. However, I do think that we could take the background of the classes into consideration a little bit in advance. I think that it ended up really well though, there are just small points of adjustments that could be made. If I could redo the entire exhibition, I think I would keep everything the way it was, but maybe a little more fine tuned, because I am really glad with how our exhibition turned out.
